Beginning today, I'll be taking care of school secretary's puppy, and get paid for it!

The puppy's name is Priscilla, and she's unbelievably cute. We don't know what breed she is, but I have strong suspicions that she may be a Shih Tzu. She's quite friendly and playful with our two dogs, even though they've been a little rough on her so far. Oh, and she's not quite housebroken...

I don't know how long I'll have to care for her -- at least until she's mature enough to be left at her own home... But for now, Mom and I are very delighted to have her from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, from Monday to Friday!

Rub-a-dub-dub!

Just over an hour ago, I was greeted with an unexpected morning surprise.

I was still struggling with my sleeping schedule, as I got up from my bed. I went out the door, and I noticed Mom, accompanied by my dog Gracie, summoning. A unidentified puppy popped into view, and I gasped. I quickly got myself dressed, and returned to the hall as the puppy trotted toward me.

Apparently the puppy's a hybrid of Jack Russell terrier and Chihuahua. Unlike our two dogs, she's very sweet -- and tiny. As I petted and cuddled her, Mom told me the story: one of her neighbors' son found the puppy last night. She was very dirty, and caked with dried mud. They couldn't care for her, because the mother was too old. And so she's currently under our care, while they searched for her owner (and they still are.)

If they can't locate her owner... then what will we do with the puppy? I'd love to own her, but we've already got two dogs -- which are difficult enough to take care of.

EDIT: They've finally found her owner, and the puppy's name is Ginger. I'm happy for her being reunited with her owner, but Mom is not. She's grown very attached to the puppy, and she can't bear being separated from her.

No college for me -- for a while!

Evidently, the abrupt change from my home life to college life is too much for me, and that I was so ill-prepared. I got so very depressed, so Mom and I consulted the director of Student Disability Services, Lita, to request an immediate withdrawal. After that, we packed all of my stuff back into the van and checked out of the dorm. I didn't even go to any classes.

Here I am, back home and much happier. I don't know how long it will be before I go back. However, I think I may need more training on living independently. I mean, I've lived my whole life practically insulated, and I've always relied on my parents for everything. I know that I can't be forever dependent on my only living parent...

But I know one thing for sure: I won't give up on the college of my dreams. I've worked so hard to get accepted and to learn everything I'll need to become a cartoonist. Yet I've withdrew from college on the first day of classes due to personal issues. I may need more time to prepare myself for college life, but I really don't want to miss out on exciting stuff college has to offer. I will be back someday.

College starts in less than one week!

First, I'd like to thank , , , and for their help on my computer issues!

Now, the main point in this entry: my life in college is about to begin. Tomorrow -- or Thursday if preferred -- my mother and I'll have packed everything I need, including this dear old PC, and go on a long drive to Savannah. This Saturday, I'll be checking into my assigned dormitory room for the fall quarter. After that, we'll be attending the college orientation. Come Sunday, I'll be on my own, as Mom'll have to leave me there. Finally, classes'll begin on Monday.

I tell you this: I'll be offline for a few days. I promise to get back online as soon as possible -- once I somehow manage to reconnect my PC and stuff in my room
